I’m Rudy — a Senior Systems Engineer at Automattic, the company behind WordPress.com, Tumblr, WooCommerce, and more. I’ve been in tech since 2003, starting in the Flash/ActionScript era, through 8 years in the U.S. Navy, and into the world of infrastructure engineering at scale.

Today I help keep the infrastructure running for a platform that powers over 43% of the web. On the side, I build indie games, mentor developers, and write about what I’ve learned along the way.
